THESE PROVISIONS DESCRIBE the mutual obligations of ITALY TOUR VALUES (aka ITV) and tour participants, hereinafter referred to as “Customers”.
RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS. To hold your reservation, a deposit of $300 (U.S.) per Customer must be received, together with a signed contract. The remaining balance (final payment) must be received 50 days before departure in order to prevent cancellation. The deposit is non-refundable unless customer cancels in writing within 72 hours of sending the deposit.
In particular circumstances, to be mutually agreed in writing when the contract is signed, the reservation and final payment date can be set at less than 50 days prior to the trip.
EARLY BOOKING is highly advisable in order to 1) secure airline reservations at an affordable price and the right connections;
2) ensure against any future price rises.
PRICES. Rates quoted in this brochure refer to the ground portion of the tour, in Italy only, and do not include airline tickets. All rates may be increased if Italy Tour Values’/ITV’s costs increase, including for any airline tickets it may buy at Customer’s request (which are quoted separately and are in addition to the land tour), due to price changes and currency fluctuations. All prices quoted in the tour contract are firm and guaranteed once the Customer sends the signed contract and deposit payment.
TIPS are included in tour price except to waiters
AIRPORT-TO-HOTEL All Customers whose plane arrives Saturday, but too late (after 10 a.m.) for them to ride the tour bus, will take taxis to the hotel and be reimbursed for the cost.
CHANGES TO THE TOUR SCHEDULE due to bad weather, strikes, closure of scheduled sites, transport interruption or other reasons beyond the control of Italy Tour Values/ITV will not entitle Customers to reimbursement, partial or total, nor will Customers’ failure to participate in the complete tour once they have begun it, for whatever reason. (Consult trip insurance provisions). In the unlikely event such changes in the schedule are required, Italy Tour Values/ ITV will try to provide suitable replacements.
BILLING ERROR. If this occurs for any reason, Italy Tour Values/ITV reserves the right to issue a corrected invoice.
CANCELLATIONS. Customers must notify Italy Tour Values/ITV of ground tour cancellations prior to departure date, both by phone and by email or U.S. mail, and are charged as follows, per person and according to the latter date of the phone call and the postmark or email date:

RESCHEDULING THE GROUND TOUR. If the ground tour is rescheduled, this must be done the same way as for a cancellation, at least twenty days prior to the trip, for a $250 fee.
AIR TICKET CHANGES OR CANCELLATION FEES. (1) If ITALY TOUR VALUES/ITV obtains air tickets for Customers, it charges a $100 change/cancellation fee for each ticket. Of course, if Customers decide to buy their own tickets directly from the airline, then any changes or cancellations are handled strictly between them and the airline, but Customers agree to inform Italy Tour Values/ ITV of any changes or cancellations of their airline tickets.
(2) The airline(s) charge(s) a fee, often of more than $300, to change a reservation. The airline charge is added to the $100 fee charged by Italy Tour Values/ITV.
(3) Changes require a new ticket reservation and often this will be much more expensive than the original, if, indeed, one can be had.
(4) As for cancellations, Italy Tour Values/ITV will reimburse Customers whatever portion of the air ticket price the airline(s) agree(s) to refund. Often, airlines will not refund cancelled air tickets once they have been bought.
REFUNDS. All refunds are made subject to the Customer’s agreement to release Italy Tour Values/ITV from all additional liabilities and to waive all additional rights and remedies under this contract or any applicable state, federal or foreign law.
VISAS and PASSPORTS. U.S. citizens do not need a visa to travel to Italy, but the passport must be valid for at least six (6) full months beyond the expected return date. Citizens of other countries need contact Italian authorities
LUGGAGE. Each Customer is limited to one large suitcase and one small, carry-on bag; or one carry-on bag and a briefcase or large purse, due to bus space limitations. Many airlines now charge extra for checked suitcases/luggage, at the Customer’s expense. Since Italy Tour Values/ITV cannot be responsible for loss or damage to luggage, consider purchasing travel insurance.
TRIPLE ROOMS. Consider that, if provided, these often add a folding bed or cot, which may not be as comfortable as normal beds.
SPECIAL ASSISTANCE. Italy Tour Values/ITV regrets it cannot provide such assistance because of the active walking nature of this tour, which includes walking slowly up and down a few hills and several rather long series of steps. Also, some locations, such as the streets of Pompeii, as well as our various means of transportation, are not easily accessible to wheelchairs. Wheelchair-bound customers must be accompanied by an able assistant.
RESPONSIBILITY/LIABILITY. Italy Tour Values/ITV does not own any of the service providers used on the tour, be it for transportation, lodging or food. These are all independent contractors and therefore they and not Italy Tour Values/ITV are liable for any loss or damage suffered by Customers on this tour. Customers are subject to the terms and conditions set forth on their airline, rail or cruise tickets.
In addition, and without limitation, Italy Tour Values/ITV is not responsible for any injury, loss, death, inconvenience, delay or damage to person or property in connection with the provision of goods and services, whether resulting from, but not limited to, acts of God or force majeure, illness, disease, acts of war or civil unrest, revolt or insurrection, animals, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, transport overbooking, downgrading of transport means, mechanical or other failure of airplanes or any other means of transportation, or failure of the transport means to arrive or depart on time. Note that foreign air-conditioning systems in public places, hotels or transport may not be up to U.S. standards.
If, due to weather, flight schedules or other uncontrollable factors, Customer must spend an additional night, or nights, Customer will be responsible for their own hotel, transfers and meal costs. Baggage is entirely at owner’s risk. Italy Tour Values/ITV reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of the tour at any time. In any such event, Italy Tour Values/ITV’s sole obligation is to refund for any unused accommodations or ground trip charges. Customer certifies not to have any mental, physical or other condition or disability that would create a hazard to him/her or other customers.
Italy Tour Values/ITV reserves the right to change the itinerary or trip features at any time and/or to substitute airline reservations, or hotels of a similar category for those listed in this brochure, and Italy Tour Values/ITV shall not be liable for any such changes.
ARBITRATION AGREEMENT. Any dispute or claim arising from or in any way relating to these Terms and Conditions, to the Responsibility/Liability Clause, to this brochure or to any other information relating in any way to the trip shall be settled solely and exclusively by binding arbitration in Texas, in accordance with the commercial rules of the American Arbitration Association then existent.
Upon payment of a deposit, Customer indicates acceptance of the above Terms and Conditions and of the Arbitration Agreement.
TOUR OPERATOR/CUSTOMER AGREEMENT.
Any further information concerning the conditions of this Tour is contained in the agreement to be signed between the Customer and the Tour Operator, Italy Tour Values/ITV, at the time the tour deposit is made.
